Thank you for a beautiful 2022-23 Season!

For 26 years, the MSO has brought you musical experiences that contributed significantly to creating a quality of life emerging with opportunities for a thriving place to live, work and conduct business. The Symphony's concerts have engaged audiences broadly and profoundly and provided new and unique occasions for families and young people to discover the joy of live orchestral music.

The MSO is uniquely equipped to bring music's passion, excitement and healing to a growing Marquette County and the entire Upper Peninsula.

We aim to continue performing music for the next 26 years and beyond.

And thanks again for supporting our non-profit organization.

Distinguished Service Award

This award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the organization’s success through their gifts of time, talent or finances to provide a live orchestral experience for the audience and performers in this region. A person who has made an extraordinary contribution to the MSO.

Dr. Dan Arnold

2021-22 Recipient of the MSO Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Arnold is a retired medical oncologist who has served as Chief of Staff of Marquette General Hospital, President of Congregation Beth Sholom in Ishpeming, and Chair of the Marquette General Foundation. He has also helped the Superior Health Foundation and was president of the Pine Mountain Music Festival board.

Dan first joined the MSO board in 1998 and twice served as President of the Board of Trustees. He has worked very closely with the Artistic Advisory, Executive & Finance, and Fundraising Committees. Dan's legacy, however, is as chief fundraiser for the symphony. Without his diligence, this organization would not be as financially healthy as it is now. His remarkable ability to get sponsorships allows us to make favorable programming decisions.

Dan is also an accomplished musician in his own right, giving him insight into the needs of musicians. He understands that when you pay a musician for a performance, you are not just paying for their time and talent on stage. You are paying for the years of training it took to master their instruments. His passion for music is evident in his devotion to making the symphony a success.
